Wedstival Styling at Walton Castle Spring Wedding
I'm thrilled to have my flowers showcased on Whimsical Wonderland Wedding today! And, I just had to share some of my thoughts on that special day...
Adam and Tamara Buhryn were the most adorable couple to work with. Their wedding celebration was a highly personalised and unique affair that bubbled over with love and laughter - what a way to start married life.
The day was beautifully styled by The Little Wedding Helper, and expertly planned and executed by Sweet & Pretty Weddings. For my part, I got to craft fabulous florals for a vintage high tea (catered by Papadeli - and it looked and tasted amazing!), including a stunning five and a half foot 'long and low' top table centrepiece, a moss tablecloth and festival-inspired flower-filled wellies! This was a wedding that used floral styling to set the rustic chic scene - and what a scene!
This wedding was simply amazing - high tea, stone-baked pizza, hand-made burgers, a VW ice-cream cart, face painting, hanging floral picture frames, a live band, and fireworks. It was a huge thrill for me to craft bespoke wedding flowers for such a beautiful and unique day.
For the ceremony and wedding breakfast florals cascaded down steps, metre-tall vases, and from the bridal bouquet.
For the evening, wedstival vibe, the flowers were arranged in watering cans, wellies, and on a mossed tabletop. Tamara and Adam generously invited me to enjoy some of their evening activities - which, for me, was the perfect end to a perfect wedding.
I only book one wedding per date and this is why...
crafting these bespoke blooms took a few days. Firstly, it's important to clean all containers, condition the flowers and foliage. Which, for a wedding of this magnitude can take the best part of half a day! In the final couple of days I got just four hours sleep and by the end of the night I was wearing face paint (provided by Whoopie Face Painting), curled up asleep on the sofa at Walton Castle; A very contented florist.
